i'm with ya on that co-burn crap. that's bothered me for a decade. there's a canadian singer called cockburn and he promulgates the same pronunciation lie. if that doesn't say cock-burn i don't know what does.
This was an awesome interview, I keep telling my husband Please Please take me to Chicago to see the CHURCH, I dont fly so we would have to drive and he is wanting to take me but he has to work!!! I know from Texas to Chicago is about 13 hours but I DONT CARE!!! If I dont go I hope you guys will come to Dallas TX or just make these videos so I could follow you wherever lol, it will feel like im there! And I woulde definately clap lol
Bring those guys with u to the states to open up , a nice set, for u guys, (the Churh). I bet they would love Chicago in April. This country needs to see other artists than the many who get force-fed to the masses. Have a great practice and day.
P.S. Those guys are HUGE !! Nicd to have some1 around to watch ur back.
Ahhh, it's good to return to TTB. I'm coming down from massive Olympic withdrawals in addition to recovering from a massive cold/flu bug/virus thing these past two weeks. Uggh!
Hey, are my eyes deceiving me or is it true The Church will be at the Roxy in LA in April?!!?! Yipeeee! I've marked my calendar and, if I can manage to still be awake, I hope to be able to actually say "Hello" and "Thank you", Steve. Well, I'll say more than that ...
Oh, and I LOVE the two videos of your girls. They are simply PRECIOUS!
It's so amazing how expressive they are when they're singing. They're not just sitting there like drones, saying the words. It looks like they really understand the dynamics/emotions of this powerful masterpiece.
Apart from that, great to see how you prepare for a gig and meeting the new band, but where was the other 'alf? You seem the happy-chappy whenever you play Perth sk, wish I could be there. Hey, we also got to see your brand new choppers on this vid, very nice'n'hhhwhite Killsy!!!
And one more thing, could someone please, pleeeease film this gig, no-one but the Perthians ever get to hear this set, will you be doing Nothing Inside?,I love that song!
Nice to be invited to rehursle SK. The teeth to great an this impromptu bit of video footage, not to mention the bonus bit of singing from the man himself, was great.
Also, just want to say thanks to anon at 2:53 AM. Just had a look at the link and smiled all the way through it. It was brilliant to see EVERY single child really into this timeless classic, and the harmony worked really well. Who’d of thought UTMW could be an eerie track when put in the background of Dannie Darko, and yet when sung by these happy youngsters, its sounds so upbeat? Bravo SK, I don’t think there’s any other track I know that is so versatile.
Great footage of you tuff guys in rehursle. Well I'm taking my vid camera tonite to Clancy's but don't want a surge of security peeps taking it away from me! SK - do you give me your permish to shoot some vid? On a side note, my Mum and I came and saw The Church at Metropolis Freo (I think) in the mid 90s and we met u all out back after the gig. You looked at Mum (she was 50 odd at the time) and signed a CD. Anyway cut to a few years later she came to another gig (1998?), stood all nite right at the front with me with her pink Doc Martens on :), she really enjoyed herself. She had been feeling pretty ill of late and she got the Big C diagnosis less than a month later. She passed away Jan '00. Right up til the end she loved both your music SK and The Church's. Just feeling a bit wistful and wanted to write this down. She'd have loved these Unholy Duo gigs!! C U tonite!
Saw you in Freo a few months back and loved it. Have been waiting for return and am very excited. Wont be there tonight but going Oxford on Sunday. Here we go, here we go here we go
I love it that you played part of "The Ancient World" acoustic style at 4:30! That's RAD Steve!!!!! Sweet, I really love that cut!
Oh how i miss "Music Month" with your tidbits of excellent vids and tunes :-)
Man...I really really wish you guys were coming to somewhere in the midwest such as Saint Louie, Indianapolis, or Kansas City for the weekend on that Wide Open Road...closest city to me on the weekend is Cleveland, OH and since my Dad passed away recently (used up all of my vacation and sick time for him the last 9 months & then he passed 02-02-10, God Bless his sweet soul! He really enjoyed your tunes when I played them), so I dont have ANY time off to take from work UNLESS it's the weekend n a tidbit closer!? BIG Bummer for me I guess huh? :-(
You sure you don't have room for Saint Louie or Indianapolis, or Kansas City on some weekend in May?
Oh well, life goes one and so does The Church, you guys are Prolific...LIVE LONG and PROSPER!
All of you deserve the "Gold Monoatomic & Silver Colloidial" Medal of Honor" for stretching it out this long....THIRTY FUCKING YEARS!
