Earthed is a masterpiece, and 'the white plague' is an astonishing piece of music....like the soundtrack to entering heaven :-)

Lovely bit of cinematography Mr K, and the harmonious music complimented the fambley images so well. I certainly wasn’t offended by your naked chest; being female I’d rather see a masculine hairy chest than a topless woman, so thanks. Ha! Ha!
Strange this about these still though; very often you tell us of your many lives, and even in the images you manage to look like different people!

AH, the lovely Earthed! I bought the cd version back in '88 at a Tower Records while out on one of my first dates with my wife. Can't recall if this was before or after I took her to see you guys play the Tower Theater with Tom Verlaine and Peter Murphy, but your music has been a soundtrack to our lives these past 2 decades.
Steve- if you're reading this, will you be bringing the re-rereleases of your solo discs on the US acoustic tour? I passed on them on your last acoustic jaunt and have regretted it since then....

Ummm.... how I do love hot summers. ;-)

And I love ♥ Earthed too but I need to get my hands on the CD/book. I have the download version from ITunes with you reading the poetry…which is pretty cool too.

Awesome Steve. I think I may bring my same titled book for you to sign again when you make it to Minneapolis MN. This music was awesome...and so was the shirtlessness...flaunt it while you got it baby!

i have this both on cd and the clear vinyl, both of which i bought as soon as they hit the shelves in the 80s. (i bought the cd just for the book alone!! i didn't even have a cd player yet. :) ) i dragged the cd out last night and had a listen after seeing this vid. the lovely tunes that wafted from my speakers was luscious. :) :) :) excellent album!! (and book, too.)

the b&w shirtless pics remind me of those old hemingway photos of him banging away on his trusty royal down in key west or cuba - very cool vibe - looking forward to seeing you in n america

steve-
ur family is precious. and dont b made for me saying that ur wife is gorgeous. i totally understand the shirtless sk. when the temp reaches its peak for days-ur only comfortable in ur own skin. earthed is a magical breeze engulfing all those who enter its surroundings. BRILLIANT as always. I have a 5 minute digital slide show of my family that is accompanied by " under the milky way" that song fits my collage perfectly.

Have a great day !!!

Someone recorded the Oxford gig with a 2 camera set up thing. If you are out there in time being land, would you let me know how i can grab a copy.

The only way to get the poo out of that drum machine is to wash them repeatedly in reverb. Wait, is that what not to do?

That snare might actually be playing from one end of Canterbury cathedral and being miked in Chartres.

What do i know. neuman might have been teleporting espionage style.

love glynnis.

hey glynnis
how was your drum sound in 1986?

Funny, was listening to Earthed today before I saw this. Had my Church iPod on at work It's full - almost 500 songs and I now am forced to cull as I cannot fit Untitled #23 on.

Loved the montage and the music could have sat here watching and listening for ages- shirtless is fine.

Thanks

Dude! Never Heard Earthed before!!?? I actually bought it back in 1988 or something like that and did not like it? Used it for a coaster.

Now, I'm gonna go out and buy a truckload of this stuff!!!! Lovin' Every Bit of it Bro! Now for the shirt...? Shave them manly hairs and maybe wax them nipples, then trim your brows and you'll be closer being more "Metro"!

Love the still image when the vid is over ;-)

I have every Church album, but always had reservations about buying Earthed...until now.
The comments here were good enough to make me go and buy the ONLY copy listed on ebay!!

topless is way preferable to mindless... which the detractors in question are. AND so very nice to hear those sounds again. Hmmmm.... "Mindlessness"....

definitely enjoyed it.

Bought this CD with the booklet back in ze 90's. loved to trip out on the winter scape sounds contained here within.

btw, which gallion are you sailing on to the New Old World this time around?

Ooh, choice of snare sound a bit of a sore spot in Church land? I even think the JD's snare sounds on P=A dates it somewhat. For me that sound on Earthed places it in a certain time period along with the key sounds, very Vangelis.

Not gonna make MWP's show tonite in Austin, back home licking wounds. Depending on the set list you play for this US tour I maybe going to the Atlanta show, I would have to drive it but if Snowfaller is on the list I am there.
