rebounder

sit in my room of rooms
unbelievable mess
surely only days away from over hall
books n cds pile up
a squalid mass of old wrappers
hot sultry afternoon
have swum n done one yoga
have eaten 2 bowls of muesli
have drunk a soy cappo
people coming over
people just left
my finger types types types
an extraordinary life
anxieties manifesting
creativity surging
getting it done but getting further behind
further n further behind
taking it all in like a blue whale
straining out the krills and the thrills
talking bout music
talking bout life
talking bout the way things are down here
summer undisputed indisputable king
angry clouds
angry sun
wind whips up
its saturday
what does that mean to a man like me...?
i dunno
you tell me

Day of the Satyrs

Many times, in many things I’ve heard and read, SK is known as a man of few words, but perhaps left with those wonderful creative images and words that live in your head like jack-in-the-box waiting to spring out; maybe when the opportunity arises they all burst forth, and so as you say yourself, you type, type, type! What does it mean to a man like you? I’m not sure any of us really know; especially if you don’t; but for me these two lines sum things up:-
getting it done but getting further behind
further n further behind

Once you type that first letter on the keyboard, all those amazing thoughts, feelings and visions come cascading from your heart and head, join up and travel on together to come out either at the finger tips, and/or articulate lips.
I too have spent most of my life searching for answers; frustrating thing is that I usually have them; it’s the questions that evade me! The way I deal with it is to adopt the mindset of believing what I want to believe at the end of the day, cos that’s the only way I can deal with a lot of the stuff that isn’t the way it should be, or wasn’t the way it was supposed to have been. I think also that the majority of us suffer some kind of ill health in one way or another as we age no matter how well we maintain the machinery, and I can identify with some of the things you’ve shared with us. I hate people suffering no matter what, but a lot has to do with PMA, (positive mental attitude) so maybe my way of dealing with the things that have us asking ‘why me’ may help even though the medics have given an official diagnosis ...

Why the blurred vision?
Because try as you might, your creativity blurs the boredom of routine and the words and images fight to be the foremost thing you see.
Why the tinnitus?
Because you have so much ‘unseen music, unheard words’ that still needs to come and is constantly shouting at you from within.
Why the dental problems?
Years ago it didn’t matter, but face it, you bit down hard on life. However now, whilst you believe yourself to be sleeping, that protestant work ethic knows not what rest means, so the words continue to follow and chip away at the enamel in an attempt to be heard.
Thankfully you have found that through yoga you can at least take time out to slow down and just focus on breathing and inner peace. This is your really R & R time SK, because during your yoga sessions, neither sight, sound nor jaw movement are as strong as the focus you are truly capable of and I’m sure pale into insignificance, albeit for a short period.

Steve my good fellow...you are on on Rockwiz again in Melby (and probably Sydney et al) tonight.

Good to see you excelling in your rightful place with the Australian public (a repeat I'm sure from last year !)

The "beneath the spiral galaxy" miss mustta been a set up for a gag seeing as you were kicking ass on every other question.

I reckon it means that you've got things just about as right as the next bloke

Ohhh - a squalid mass of old "wrappers"! I was picturing Grand Master Flash and a dubious posse of 80s protagonists of that genre I truly dislike, stubbornly camped in your sacred space... :D

hey Melby Symon - what channel?! I've been watching Rockwiz re-runs on cable VH1 for weeks hoping to catch SK, with no luck so far!

Cazziem, rule of thumb, comments should never be three times as long as the original blog, carry on

Sorry anon at 4:46, sometimes it's difficult to shut up when it's a one way conversation, but I'll try!
