Oh for Gods sakes.
That is terrible.
Steve Irwin and Bindi look like superstars compared to that.
Stop dancing around like a ninny.
You have missed the Wiggles boat.
Your daughters face says it all.
Tedious brother.
You are going down fast.
Cut offs and twirling.

Another catchy tune from the master! Couldn't help smiling thoughout out though as it kinda looked like SK the kid having fun, whilst Auntie Scarlet seemed somewhat bored in that car!

And that magnificent tree – awesome! I think if you haven't already done so, you should incorporate this tree into your artwork???

Ah, that was *GREAT* Steve! Being currently on somewhat of a Plastic Ono Band listening kick, the bvox were kinda synchronous - I suspect some little Kilbeys in the mix... Ohno... anyway, loving the audio n visuals as always man!

Awwwww ... what a sweet ditty. It's so cute to see you and your youngest one playing together in the park. Those young voices in the background are your kids, right?

I only have one major criticism:

WHERE IS LITTLE SK'S SEATBELT!!??!!

Where did you get that fucking fantastic T Rex t-shirt???!!

Steve, while I disagree with the language of the anon he does have a veiled point. Visually it is sort of like watching mick jagger, I still love the dude but almost feel sorry for the way he moves around, which is exactly what is happening to you. Take the self visuals out of your art please.

sure...whatever you say

love ya, but your daughter needs to be in a proper car seat. if you were to be in a crash, that seat belt could end up killing her..

Awww, princey jnr and I loved watching this clip sk!! I love seeing you so happy and loving life so much and little sk is SO gorgeous!! Phoenix recognised all the sights from our trip to Sydders in July, and said he'd love to see Scarlet zooming on a scooter at the awesome Bondi skatepark haha. I don't blame little sk looking tired and grumpy, we felt like that after climbing up and down those gigantic steps near the Opera House. Sydney's so much more "hilly" than flat ol' Melby, so walking around DOES get to ya after a while!

Thanks for taking the time to make these clips and songs sk, and I can't understand the negative comments coming from those malakas criticising you for enjoying life and mucking around with your kid!!

Keep it up sk, it puts a smile on so many people's faces:)))))
love Amanda

Hi, This is PV here, one of the so called ‘negative’ commentators.(granted when I use words like pathetic, I’m not being very nice, SK is only human after all, but I fuck up also)
I have been a longtime reader, commentator and anonymous $ contributor.

Anon at 2.15AM (on yesterdays comments) has dissected this whole thing rather well.

My motivations for reading this are many, the same I imagine are SK’s reasons for writing it.

Why do I read every day?
What most interests me is getting an insight into the inner workings of a middle aged family man, living in Bondi and trying to balance the life/art thing.
How he reconciles his past is a back story to me.

I feel I share a similar experience to SK, so I think I can relate in some way’s.
I live in Sydney, I’m a musician, I have a nonstop creative hunger, I grew up in Canberra, I moved away & lived around the world, I’m a drug user and abuser, I have interests in arcane knowledge, I have a history of arguing with people, I now have children and struggle with the life/art balance.

I like that SK manages to stay ‘out there’ and I find that inspirational because I always feel ‘out there’. It’s nice to know I’m not alone.

I’m not a fan boy, I do like the music (not all, but most), I’m arrogant enough to think that what I do is of equal value, although it’s obvious that SK is a master at his craft, a truly great lyricist and a unique songwriting stylist. I have maximum respect.

I find this whole blog thing very interesting.
I reckon once something is publish on the web it joins the public domain.
Ownership becomes blurred.

It obviously SK’s bloody blog, but it becomes a collective experience once we get involved. There are no real rules or etiquette.

Just don’t be rude. The pathetic anons, the bitter ones, the ones with some sort of agenda are just a by product of the collective experience.
In the end SK is the gatekeeper, so good luck to him.

This blog is very interesting on many levels, has spawned a strange disparate community, ….just like the real world

Cheers (the other) PV

Like your wandering minstrel tale, spent some evenings last week traversing my own past with a visiting friend in the twists and turns of sydney's streets.

Steve, I am having an exhibition of my paintings and drawings in Bondi soon...wondering if it's cool with you to post some details here in the comments...Cita

Whatever EXACTLY!! Jesus Christ these peeps have nothing better to do than to criticize and get all nasty behind the mask. What a bunch of LOOOOOOOOOOOSERS!! How dare you tell a man to change the very heart of his soul!! Damn, I just can't believe you even exist...especially here.

Please keep it up, Stevo. It is ALL good. I REALLY hope you don't let any of that "Anon" sink in too much. I'm sure it hurts, because it is meant to. But please know that you and most of us here are on a much higher plane; and guess what...we get it! Weird, eh? It thought the video was cool, and the song was groovy. Keep those kids singing. Hell, film them while they record the vocals. Keep filming and singing and goofing off and being serious and well...JUST BE YOU!! I mean, yeah, it will be down right HILARIOUS when you're like 90 and still "shaking it up"!! But, fuck it. If we're still around then, you can bet I will still be interested as to what you are up to...thus REAL art. Yeah, keep on keepin' on, man. WE love and truly appreciate it. It is all just another shoot off the trunk if you ask me...all part of the big tree.

Anyway, gott go. Steve, you rock. Anons, you suck. The rest of you goodins, nice to know yas. Cheers to all.

Goodnight,

Ben V.

fucking lighten up man - jesus -
so many people miss out on so much by being self righteous -
i think steve was right, you do bloody love him - and the only way you can get a direct response is by provoking this man, who is simply trying to do something - and god forbid, perhaps not take himself too seriously all the time - think about it

Uh huh. I for one am enjoying the songs and vids.

The dickweed anon and the well meaning anon seem to be missing the point. Can't they see the difference between polished work (U#23, for example) and these thoroughly enjoyable blog experiments? It's a process folks, one that we're being let in on. Enjoy it for what it is. And if you don't like it, by all means piss off as the man said.

yes, the odessa steps... a serious commentary every telling filmmaker contemplates. very good sk.

princey said...

OH FU****G HELL!, now I've heard everything...if you're male, live in sydney, grew up in canberra, are a muso, smoke a joint, have a beard blah blah blah, you think you "understand" sk better than others and this gives you the right to tell him how to live his life AND tell him he's pathetic etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Stop dissecting so much, it's just a diary, you people need to lighten up and need to get on with your OWN lives and if you hate him and his diary so much, then F**K OFF!

Anonymous said...

Hey princey,
why are you so rude?
I'm just trying to communicate, seems any subtly is lost on you. This blog is different things to different people. No need to tell me to f**k off. I’ve tried to atone for my past rudeness.
( yes I simply could ignore, or not read ..blah blah)

PV ( I’m outa here, not going to bother anymore)

Great clip, Steve. You are always unpredictable.

SK has no bone about exposing his weaknesses and his strengths. Why don't the haters go away. These songs and vids are experiments and snapshops into his creative process while he's learning new tools and he's sharing.
You're a beautiful man Steve.

Boy I'm glad I didn't toke it up too much before this otherwise i might have really freaked out...loved it all the way!!! Really got a kick out of "feeling the lion statue's face" and the repeats of it, like a skipping DVD or sorts, hah! Excellent and i'm sure she enjoyed it too! Freaky Videos!
