Mysterious. Evocative...speaking voice and singing voice doesn't get much better than that.

you seem so very close to the meaning
it seems only just out of your reach
tell me
the darkness in which it lies
is it a stellar accident
or is it reproduced for effect
night after night
some primeval significance throbbing at its core

or are you just as lost as me
i can no longer hold my daughter's stare
as she wonders at suburban streets
stricken by the ordinariness
the containment of all that weirdness
the cooking smells
o god, those wretched cooking smells
they claimed the unsinkable sylvia plath
i know it

but either way
that you're out there searching
and reporting back
it may not be the difference
like, the difference
but fuck it helps

Wow....you’re welcome to tax my bandwidth any day.

i could listen to you reading your poetry forever....what a wonderful way to end the day.....to dream, to remember.....

only time i can't listen to/watch your vids is when the internet is being slow and things freeze on me until more vid is downloaded....

love always.....

vids work great on laptop... but can't see them on the iphone...

Will you be teaching class anywhere locally? Love your work but not like the movie.

Ahh, love it SK! And I cannot... for whatever reason... stop watching these videos...

I can view the videos fine, no probs. The sound can be pretty quiet, however, but I suppose this depends how close you are to the internal mic?

Video comes thorugh great, but then I've got a newer iMac.....
Love to her your voice, so relaxing, so smooth. That's why I've stuck with The Church since the very first album. A voice like yours is hard to come by.

I like the idea of you doing children's books....I'd buy them even though there are no little kids in my life.

mmm, you're so yummy. Please keep doing these videos, I could listen to you/watch you forever.

had to lean in to hear you; unlike yesterdays which was fulsomely spoke

the protocols muffled your cyber sigh

there's always, always, at least one killer line in everything you write; could this one be the grass claws though the sand?

read us the blog about the sea taking the sand in it's mouth!

I have a very slow connection. It took 2 hours to view your first video. It's cool though, I'll just watch t.v. while they load.

glynnisjohns said...

Ah, delightful that was.

We are receiving transmission successfully, telepathically, emphatically.

If everyone just owned MACs, they'd be OK. The World would be a better place too! Videos work perfectly. Can't wait to see what you come up with once you've mastered IMovie!

Kozmos said...

Simply put, brilliant. Your ability to evoke images with words and emotion with your voice is mesmerizing. Thank you for sharing your gift ...

Never had an issue seeing the vids.

Normally I have no trouble on my PC, but I cannnot view it on my Iphone. This is most likely due to "user" error!

On vacation this week in beautiful Oregon, so I will probably have to wait to view these video gems upon my return.

At least I can still read your blog. Whew!

In the meantime, I'm going to continue trying to figure out this contraption.

I really wish I could pay you guys for your work! I mean, why can't I pay you to download the obscure stuff like Refo: Mation? I'm having to order it from some guy in the Netherlands. I mean... come on mate, bro, dhude... if you put this stuff up I'd much rather be paying you the money.

much love to you

I have to admit the phrase "poetry reading" usually fills me with horror. So often they are overly melodramatic recitations of god-awful writing -- please, please kill me now. There is just something about poetry that intensifies everything, so when it's bad (and as we all know, it often is), it's very, very bad.

But this piece Steve, ah yes, this is how it should be done.

Beautiful!

(no problems at all getting the video for me)

It's like a dream come true, I've been hoping for a poem for so, so, so, so long. Thanx killsy:))))

Regarding the comment about watching videos on Iphone….
Forget about it, it’s not user error either
IPhone won’t stream video from the web
because AT&T doesn’t want it clogging up the network.

For me, sometimes your videos take a little longer load at work during peak usage
but otherwise here at home, the playback has been instantaneous.
I have a 54 Mbps connection via cable modem.

cazziem said...

Absolutely beautiful!

rubikon said...

If anyone cannot view the video they are either having bandwidth problems (if the video is slow and/or takes a long time to view with pauses/breaks) or they don't have Adobe Flash player installed (which can be downloaded from Adobe's web site).

Excellent....I was hanging on every word, hearing the water, seeing the lights low in the caravan park at night. Your voice, bringing the words to life with your inimitable cadence and sonorous timbre.

Very much enjoyed, Magician. Thank you.

(I also have a Mac lappy, all works well)

TB T.V... wonderful... transmission clear... contents valuable... 100% free of preservatives...
processed with a chemical free delivery system...(that point might be debatable)... this product is meat free... this product is full of beans (soy)... this product is full of joy...
TB T.V... reader/viewer/voyeur warning; contents may be enlightening... contents may stimulate thinking... reader/viewer/voyeur’s may begin to wonder of a past life existence and turn to the books of Edgar Cayce; though I did years before I knew of the TB... reader/viewer/voyeur’s may begin to question eating meat; and that won’t make the burger king or mac d happy...

Breaking news! possible commercial sponsors for TB T.V... totally unconfirmed at this date)... eden soy... fender... zig zag... peta... the global flax seed improvement society... with best wishes from sam clemens ghost... (so I’ve heard)

and lastly, didn’t I mention you should do this video thing a month an a half ago...? yes my marketing skills are phenomenal, just give me 20% off the top... wait, okay 10% after cost... hold on... okay 5.125% of every thought... no that wont work either... my services are rendered free, just think of me, in the blue green sea, dreaming of better days.

Loved it!

Beautiful images. "inky and marine-green random lovely patterns" - very nice! even a bit of science thrown in for good measure ("starlight contains shifting reds and blues").

"Love around here?" "Used to..." The perfect ominous note. She didn't move away. It's just that she's no longer living at all....

Nicely read :)
