sometimes.
I can relate to wanting to start all over. Oh what I'd do differently - take more RISKS!
Glad to hear you avoided getting arrested by the cops. It's legal to smoke everything else practically and drink heavy booze, but don't smoke that pot! Good grief! Not sure when/if pot will become "legal." I wouldn't hold my breath (no pun intended).
New York should always be a place for The Church. So many enlightened and intelligent people there. Cerebal individuals will invariably embrace The Church if they have the chance to actually hear The Church.
Nobody have you any jazz in NYC Steve? Jeez. Where is Benny Feelgoodman when ya need him. I bet you are ready to cross that pond back into the arms of the real love. Fans drift back to their houses and apartments of defense and you guys are out there with the miles grinding under the tires of that van or whatever that strange capsule you guys are driving in is. All the best,
John
Damn I miss New York. I will get back there someday. I'm in LA today, and while it's more exciting than Boulder, it's no comparison.
Any plans for after the tour? Other than some yoga and resting up?

I imagine that when you get home
you’re probably gonna sleep a long long blissfully long time and then....uh..how’s yor blurry eye doin’?
just noticed something~~why are all your pictures reversed? that's a weird camera you have there.
I sure hope you guys do another tour back here in New England. Play in Northampton MA this time tell your agent...I know you will fill any venue you play there.
The nice thing about the East Coast is the Cities are close together NY to Boston 3 hours, NY to Philly 3 hours, another 3 to Baltimore.
Unfortunately for me I can't make it to Ridgefield tonight.
It's funny about the cops because weed is just a $100 fine here in Massachusetts. Those small town cops have no sense of humor.
It's time to vote in the weed in Connecticut. They can have fireworks there, they don't have to wear motorcycle helmets but no weed.
I got busted in Connecticut once for weed and coke...very painful expensive experience. Go figure.
Don't like or do coke anymore but a good bud ridin' my Harley on a sunny day in Connecticut down to the Vanilla Bean in Pomfret ya gotta love it.
I was groovin' to unified field and chromium and a host of other great church tunes toolin' along with my ear buds in.
Plan for more of that tomorrow. thank you for all the good vibes.
Got to stay anonymous on this one.
Peace FSF
I feel like I'm between the diablo and the deep blue mar!

Steve, glad to hear you really dig New York...I've often wondered if the aura of Winston O'Boogie is still afoot there. The saddest passing of all time, and I'm sorry MJ fans...there's absolutely no comparison.
Tours almost over....I think you'll miss us here even tho you're anxious to get back home.
One last comment on the nose....at least you don't have Lennon's nose. Kilbey's Hot, Anon is Not!
Ahhh, I was wondering who Jordan B. was. If that's him, then who is the guy with the jet black hair and the pudgy little beer gut? I saw him doing your tunings.
Btw since I'm on the topic of road crew, is Tiare the hottest roadie ever or what? She's a real beauty. On the other hand MWP is a good catch too.
New York is the best cos I know my fave bands like you guys will tour here. No worries! And also theres some effin' great veggie food : ) And hullo to you guys who welcomed moi back, hehe. I'm still around..
If drugs were legal how the hell would street gangs, cartels, terrorist, the mafia and corrupt city, state and federal officials make a decent living?
To the celebrated Mr K.
How are ya buddy? Summer in the USA - what a thought. Better than freezing our nuts off here in Newcastle NSW. I'm having a Church day today while I do my Uni work. Doesn't matter which album I stick on - always awesome.
Fear not the Ol'55. I had mine a couple of weeks ago and it doesn't hurt a bit. BTW - Nice photos - you're looking well.
Look us up next time you're up this way.
Tour is ending - home is calling.
Keep safe
Colin (aka Caldor)
I know it maybe heresy, but you don't have to do anything Steve! Follow your bliss... wherever it leads.
Hi sk, got back last night from playing 'happy-snaps tourist" in Syders, I can understand why you're so homesick, it's really a beautiful place, around the Harbour Bridge/Opera House area & Bondi Beach of course. When we got off the bus at Bondi and crossed the road, I saw the famous Icebergs pool, gee it's looks a lot more flashy than I remember! It was empty and freezing that day tho. Phoenix fell in love with Bondi, but not cos of the beautiful beach or fresh sea air etc, its because of that "awesome skate park and playground on the beach" what more could a 5 year old want!!!....you really have it all there sk, you'd be crazy to ever leave that place!!!!
Anyway, it's great to catch up on reading your bloggys and hope you can keep that smile on your face:))))
love Amanda
pic 1 -- you look better than anyone has a right to at 4 am.
"we did wellish in new york"
From the reviews I've read you did substantially better than "wellish"!
"i feel disturbed
i feel so tired n restless
i feel old and stupid
i feel like starting again"
I certainly know this feeling...well, the first three lines anyway. You are much more the optimist though -- I can't bear the thought of having to do it all again.
Luckily, there are also days when this life feels pretty good.
Tour coming to an end feels sad ~ we love you so much. Its a highlight for me personally, so happy I got to see you. Its a beautiful gift.
Steve I brought you (the band) four jars of jam at Solana Beach I wonder if you got them. Maybe not yer cuppa tea, seeing as its made with sugar (unhealthy) but no less healthy than booze i imagine (a little goes a long way). I grew the fruit myself (nothing strange about it) lots of love along with the fruit and sugar.
Sorry no jazz.
I hope I get to see you again. Be safe. Thanks for everything ~
love,
Sandy
Good show tonight, Steve. Space Savior catapulted into my faves from the new album after viewing live version. Was kind of wishing those wires were live for the chap standing up front. Thought Marty might bring his Rickenbacker jangling down on that guy's crown. See y'all at Swyer.
i feel a bit depressed myself, i got heat exaustion and i have been in bed all day, everytime i get up i fall down, ms is killing me these days, i keep thinking what the hell did i do wrong in my life to deserve this, what if i could go back and do things different, maybe God wouldnt punish me with such disease, they say smoking weed helps, so thats what i do, but is it wrong? i dont know, will see what happens.
mary
That booze will gift you a belly like mine..............
xx
i feel old and stupid too ... lol :P
I think I need a holiday to sydeney also ... Amanda, I saw $39 airfares to Syd on the net yesterday :D hmmmmmm..
xxx
It's not drugs that are the problem - it's you druggies.
No druggies, no drug problems.
Simple, really.
So I go with the communist China solution: round em up, shoot em in the back of the head.
Well, you wouldn't re-offend, would you?
I thought 'I' was the 5th member! LOL -- nice to see Frank and Jorden (looking relaxed!) in the gallery!
A gift of absinthe and sox - that made me giggle - something to warm your mind and your toes ;)
Timothy deserves to live it up too I say.
BTW thats such a devious look happening in the phone home pic
Just about to buy the "Hear in Noiseville' song and that Robyn Hitchcock one if i can get into my Itunes
love Sue xox
ps -- "heading south" to see my folks a coupla days, listening to KK, U#23 and the Gutter Twins all the way. Enjoy Quebec and Ottawa!
sk --> was talkin to Marty after the Falls Church show.
Had a bag full of records, CD's, posters, pics, etc, etc. He asked me what was in it ---> I blurted out "40 Pounds Of Church".
We both thought that make a great title for a Church Live Box Set :)
congrats sk on what sounds to have been a successful tour - hopefully there's some desire now to do some more shows back in australia - and for those that may have missed the comment from Richard yesterday about a stunning clip of you took on KXEP - there's another 3 on youtube of our fave band in supreme form in brilliant HD format - surely now a live dvd is being considered?
steve, I has to stop listening to the Church after 20+ yrs cause of ur ......nose....
it supercedes those 2 insanely talented blisterin guitar playrs yah got in that lil band of urs.
The nose wins.
i feel utterly stuffed steve, i do, and i want to go sleep for about 14 hours straight but i can't see that happening....
i love the look on your face in photo one....were you talking to nk at the time?
love always.....
Steve,
Did you guys play Buffalo in Buffalo? Just curious...anymoe else here at the Foxboro show?
frank...we did play buffalo in buffalo
anon 6 12
yes
all the druggies should be shot, of course
theres a good boy....
"and me on the phone home at 4 in the morning"
Which time zone? Ours or your home?
I hope there will come a day when my daughter will enthusiastically talk to me at 4 in the morning.
Hey steve
Good news, your eyes aren't wonky, it's just your glasses, which means its just your ears.
Also you need Rogain STAT. And some sleeves for the love of god you old git
And where have your lips gone?? I think you used to have some.
OHHHHHH big hint
But I guess you look good for an ex junkie who smokes weed most days, has spent decades escaping and is 5 years shy of 60.
You totally look as good physically and on the books as Willy Nelson, and you outlived MJ by 5 years.
Hellbound I love that look too, its very sexy hehe, its like you are look right through us :) very sexy SK!!!
Mary, hang in there. Here's the link to my co-worker who has MS. His name is Garth and he is a very dedicated yogi (teaches at the Yoga Institute here in LA):
http://www.yogarth.com
He's a very cool guy.
oooh the nasty guy is back
and ooooh hes hurting my feelings
ooh im old and ugly boo hoo
but one thing
i still drive you mad with jealousy
why not accept the fact that you worship me..
i mean, why else bother to read my drivel..?
yes you worship me
and despite my wonky ears
my bald head
my cross eyes
my hooked nose
my flabby fifty five year old flesh
my washed up-ness
my stupidity
my junkie faggot hitler commie bastardness
despite all that
i am your master
i am your better
i am your idol
tell me now
why did your obsession with me go so bad...?
maybe i could help you
thats it
pull up a chair
get comfy
maybe you could post a picture of yerself
with yer muscles n tan n lustrous locks
with yer youth n achievements
and yer savoir faire
and then we'd have some comparison
but i kinda think
you are a hideous little monster
that cant get laid...
am i getting near the truth
did i spurn you?
didnt i wanna sing on yer songy?
was i rude to you some distant evening in some
horrible venue?
didnt i answer your fan boy email?
cmon
otherwise your carping has no value
we will presume the worst about you
and ask you to go n plague bono or something
your ex-idol and master
steve
hello steve,
i was lucky enough to see your band, the church, for the 5th time at irving plaza in NYC on wednesday. and i must say i was struck by the energy unleashed by you and your bandmates considering you've been doing this for near 30 years. you guys played like it meant everything and i was blown away. congrats.
also, i was the guy who yelled "there's more than one!" after another guy yelled out "i love you steve!" just wanted you to know that i meant it in the non-biblical, artistic admirationesque-sorta way!
and i was sorry to hear you arrived in conn. 'jazz-less.' i was able to leave you a jazzy gift last time you were around, but logistics prevented it this time. sorry! seems like the absinthe served quite well as a substitute, though.
i picked up 'painkiller' and the 'panagea' and 'cofffee hounds' eps at the merch table - can't wait to play them! i was quite disappointed, however, that no copies of the limited edition book made it to NYC.
hope your eye is better, killer, and i just wanted to say i REALLY enjoy your blog. not a vegan, but i've been vegetarian for years and walking is MY exercise (4-5 miles/day). and i am hell-bent on making another attempt at yoga to see if it does for me what it seems to do for millions of others.
thanks again to you and the church, steve. and when next you make it to our area, you are most welcome to join my wife and i for a vegan meal and a (not-so-quick) smoke at our home on long island.
william
Steve,
Matt Mac Haffie here.
I am in Albany,NY as are you tonight, at the Egg. (which truly is egg shaped)
I have Tickets and will be attending the show along with a reviewer Mike Eck for the local paper the Times Union.
I am awaiting to hear back about the The band's Photo policy as I shoot for Nippertown.com. I have also asked Peter Lesser who runs the Egg to inquire of you about a post show back stage pass. I would enjoy catching up with you.

safe trip home.
Steve,
The Churlish and the Daft are out in full force, aren't they? I mean, just today, the immature boy-heckler and the prick with the final solution for drug users... christ, man... why do you allow comments by these pricks to even be posted?
Rock on,
Louis
Are you going to throw that show phone at me?
xJen
SK,
You’re the most handsome hideous creature I’ve ever seen. :-D xoxo
Anon,
Please also post some photos of your six-pack abs and buns of steel.
That’s all: thank you. :-)
Freddie
Thanks Ellen, ill check it out, Steve as for that jerk, i figured out what that idiot wanted, he is saying all these things to get a rise out of you so you could talk to him on here and brag to his buddies ooooohhhh woooowww steve talked to meeeee wohooooo im so excited, he is a moron, i would just let him masterbate to your photos like he has been lol, and the reason why Steve puts his comments on here is to show us there are freaks in the world lol!!! and that they worship him hehe, i dont know how im going to drive from texas to chicago with this heat exhaustion crap, i feel sick still!!! im stocking up on my church cds i just got in!!!!!
Yeah, keep the bas-turd outta here sk, delete delete delete him to oblivion, the more attention you're giving to this goose, the more he's getting off (strange I know)
Can't wait til you're back in oz and everything gets back to normal around here.
luv amanda
Cheers to Mister Steve & all the Churchers for bringing it to New York City!
Come back soon!
P.S. I'm here to let ya know that there is life after 54. The knees get a little weaker & the brain gets foggier but who cares, it's still life in all its fragile mystic glory.
P.P.S. Mine, that previous comment.
