how's this for mixed myth-aphors Orpheus,
I have a tattoo on my hip of the head of Anubis surrounded by Ouroboros.
and yes, I believe there is a Narnia sequel in the making.

better than an ear on your ass!
That will teach me not to drink and read your blog at the same time.... >:
I kinda like you as Loki too, you little devil squirrel. :-)
Nah, I reckon maybe Dionysus, son of Zeus. He was "the GOD of fertility and wine, later considered a patron of the arts. He has a dual nature. On the one hand bringing joy and devine ecstasy. On the other, brutal, unthinking, rage...reflecting both sides of wines nature.", does that sound more like you I wonder!!
Love from a fellow greek geek,
Amanda
Hey Steve,
If you like the extra ear concept you may dig this -

B.Bon

How about Thunderbirds?
Steve Kilbey as Alan Tracy
Peter Koppes as Parker
M W-P as Scott Tracy
Tim Powles as The Hood
N K as Lady Penelope

hey king midas
everything you touch and sing
turns to gold...
...then again,
come to think of it,
a solid gold jazz bass
would be mighty heavy...
...you might need that
personal trainer
after all..

...I'm kind of trying to see Mr. X again,
we (the boyfriend & I) owe he and his wifey a great dinner
they're the producers of the upcoming film,
'Goya's Ghost'...it was filmed in Greece
I can't wait to see it, it's been delayed 'til November.
I'm just pondering meeting them again
yes, I see where things could go
Hope this kinda pertains
I'm still laughing and crying at the schism comment yesterday. My, you're suddenly getting expensive: you're my muse of a rockstar AND you want to be my shrink? You come highly qualified but, I already have a great psych *-)
Yes, I want to say somethings, can you tell?
1. Do you have a ruling pen for guache?
2. Can't wait for your new music- yes I'm going to buy both of course. May I ask you about a certain Radio Paradise?

PK - good old Nestor. Beard and hair to be done by someone good.
MWP - Ixion, spinning forever on his fire wheel
SK - Philemon. giving everything he has for very little gain. Feat. NK as Baucis. My favourite greek myth. You'll know about the ending. Makes me cry everytime I read it.
muse : So you gonna become a kiwi then???eh!!!
King Midas was a very kind man who ruled his kingdom fairly, but he was not one to think very deeply about what he said. One day, while walking in his garden, he saw an elderly satyr asleep in the flowers. Taking pity on the old fellow, King Midas let him go without punishment. When the god Dionysus heard about it, he rewarded King Midas by granting him one wish. The king thought for only a second and then said I wish for everything I touch to turn to gold." And so it was.
The beautiful flowers in his garden turned toward the sun for light, but when Midas approached and touched them, they stood rigid and gold. The king grew hungry and thin, for each time he tried to eat, he found that his meal had turned to gold. His lovely daughter, at his loving touch, turned hard and fast to gold. His water, his bed, his clothes, his friends, and eventually the whole palace was gold.
King Midas saw that soon his whole kingdom would turn to gold unless he did something right away. He asked Dionysus to turn everything back to the way it had been and take back his golden touch. Because the king was ashamed and very sad, Dionysus took pity on him and granted his request. Instantly, King Midas was poorer that he had been, but richer, he felt, in the things that really count.
steve, anything you do is golden. but have you seriously considered doing children's books? like anything else you do, i think you would definitely excel in that area.
lotza love....
seriously agree!
You would be a perfect,Loki!Midas.....well?alchemy without wisdom...a catastrophic blend.!It's not the Killer Style...xxA
an ear on your ass...i don't f#*@?n' think so...talk about a play on words...i'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy...and who's this ed character that reared his head...your id perhaps, steve...
-The Hellbound Heart
Is it just my computer, or has the font on this blog just gone up about 20 points??
Let's hope that there are no more Narnia films. I couldn't get past the artistic license they used on Queen Jadis. The White Witch was meant to have immensely long, straight, black hair, not a head full of horrid blonde dreadlocks. I mean, c'mon! What were they thinking?
I won't ever watch another Narnia film again. I prefer my own vision of Narnia, and no one could top Pauline Baynes' illustrations...
perse...it isn't you. steve has a new feature on this blog. look on the right column, down under his picture in the "recent readers". it's a "blog community" thingy.
SK's imagination and kind heart would make him a GREAT CHILDRENS WRITER. I highly recommend two fantastic books by England's Behjamin Zephaniah. Yes, he also happens to be a vegan and animal lover.
"Talking Turkeys" and "Funky Chickens". Two great childrens' books that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Must reads for SK.
The name is Benjamin Zephaniah.
i may be a little late in reviewing , but the " mimesis " project is unbelievably original in many ways...... SK, keep it up.......
He's the man, the man with the Midas touch,
A spider's touch.
Such a cold finger
Beckons you to enter his web of sin,
But don't go in
Golden words he will pour in your ear,
But his lies can't disguise what you fear,
For a golden girl knows when he's kissed her
It's the kiss of death ...
A quick summary on Loki:
http://www.cdli.ca/CITE/v_loki.htm
yeah, i think they have the next two tales of narnia planned out at ye olde stew-dios in hollywoodlandville. course, as in the books, time moves along and our beloved original cast won't be in all those films.
i always thought you would be brilliant playing the lead in a twenty minute film version for the song "night sequence". perhaps that's a bit of a stretch, but...
all this talk bout 'a' film, there is 'a' special film coming with me and me esskay like never before just for YOU ALL...
Jonny Hollywood
Muse,
“Concerning the difference between man and the jackass: some observers hold that there isn't any. But this wrongs the jackass.”
Steve-
Mt Olympus doesn't have the swimming facilities which you have become accustomed to.
Try Ireland, I hear there are more than 3,000 holy wells. Poetic inspiration, wisdom, healing and likely some ag ól uisce beatha. Which can lead one to act like our friend the jackass if it is consumed in copious quantities.
Plenty of fun for druids.
I remember, as a child, reading a Japanese children's book about a young, mischievous boy. He wouldn't straighten up and eventuallly turned into an umbrella because of his bad behavior (picture his leg and foot as the post and handle). The silver lining at the end of the book was that his family could use him when they went for walks in the rain. That began my appreciation for Japanese story telling, it tends to take you in a different direction.
The man with an ear on his ass is loathe to eat beans...
Nah.
SK as David Brent;
PK as Gareth;
Timbo can stay as Tim!
and MWP as Jennifer...no-one else in the show has dark flowing locks...
love you more,
davem

Where did the technorati button go? I liked that one.
...and the blogs that link here link is gone too.
:-(
moi, become a KeeVee? I have so many faint accents now...what's another?
I'm kinda thinkin' Italia, but NZ? Better to visit first.
Do the owners of that tolkein thingy also own narnia? if so...there's a fight going on.
finn,
you must be a twin name of a great church fan in TX, austin I believe. He's a very sweet young guy and musician.
too much in a hurry to sign again,
Muse @ 5:57
Thankies, Veleska. Finally see it now. :-)
The wig, the glasses, the catch phrase, Brilliant! Wots Steve Kilbey doing in a factory in Wigan?? It's mental!!! Is he avin a laff?
Ansible Jon,
My brother and I thought something along the same lines. Maybe it could be directed by David Lynch...?
John Garratt
They should cast you as something dark and sinister. Now,that's be too damned sexy!
Yay! technorati, etc. is back. I'm a happy camper. :-)

When i read the Bard aloud the kids run from the room.
Had the pleasure to see one of Stratfords legends perform King Lear! William Hutt recently passed spending a lifetime performing the sublime Shakespere.
I've had the good fortune to see several Stratford appearances all tix comp. I love my job! I love theatre, acting, landed the lead in the imoportance of being earnest first try out! Not at Stratford of course but community theatre at age of 32...needed a new challege i guess and wanted to try it.
Second time on stage was typecast as a dim witted postman in On Golden Pond.
I would love to act...but its a big commitment of time that parents like us just don't get...ah well
back to the video games and pencil crayons and cats and...
Are you in Stratford, Tim? I'm about an hour from there (I think). New to the area. Have been talking about catching a performance for the past couple weeks.
Any recommendations?
ryan
Loki? I can see it.
Odin? Not so sure.
Zeus? hell no!
Odysseus? most definitely.
Good Rant? Absolutely.
Glad your back. Glad I stopped by.
amazing One-eye…
always thought you were more of an Odin type
the Poet that you are
never pegged you for a cross-dressing hermaphrodite
but now that I think about it….
you are kind of an ambivalent shape-shifter
but…
the insight of our children…
never fails to amaze me
pleased to meet you,
RatatoSK….
PS- say hello to the dragon and the eagle for me….
this is shithouse
Late to this one, but if there was an opening for the Magician's Nephew you'd be perfect as Aslan singing the world into existence
