impostos de la amoro surperbe

its so bad for ya.....takeoff

killers accounting shop

the hellbound heart

the second greatest story ever told...my mothers book

too much snow bizness
******************************************************

*******************************************************
im am la killa
i take the female form because i have a womans sign
i like everyone else
picks up the secret language of the dead
oh let me take you to the islands of the dead
to the firehouse...
the ipod still playing grant or gobs more often than it should
if shuffle is really random
howcome it plays so much stuff of beatles anthology
like you gonna lose that girl 2wice in a cuppla hours
youre gonna lose that girl....indeed
well i used to like it
but its all over now
the silly little voices chiming in repeating n elaborating
"i'll take her out n youll be the lonely one"
(youre not the only one) sing george n paul
ah its a bit uninspiring really
a little fucking twee for me
i'd rather listen to michael rother
from neu etc
who makes wunderbar electronique es musika de la krautroque
these wonderful teutonic rockers
paying no lips service to the(by now) tedious blues
they approached it in a different way
the result...?
mechanistic drumbeats
synthesizers fixed to the beat
burble and pump in time
something like strings so sad melody
mmm...sometimes i hear bits eno musta heard
specially in popul vuh
the treated pianos
these german guys were pioneeers
today its foggy or lo hanging system of ducks down
your wiggly weporter has been painting
thanks to conversation with painting advisory board
which reported sales up
and
well
keep on paintin'
so i finish off the one in the picture here
and start some others
6 oclock in arvo
turns into 10 30 at nighty mighty quickly
when you doing painting
i dont know what the hell im doing
but
as i told you before
someone inside me
seems to know
so i stay outta the way as much as i can
i listen to my ipod shuffle
as it plays its weird dispro amounts of gobees n donovan
(jesus he used to come up with some tripe!...but good stuff too!)
and the beatles doing an alternative version of maxwells silva hamma
(you can imagine how little i dig that..finger goes straight to the ff)
paint paint paint i go
time stops inside a dream
im outside somewhere
in here the collective human artist appraises distances
makes colour choices
makes flourishes and moves quickly about
the gouache goes on like cream
the pastel is actually possibly very toxic
the advisory board is organizing me some HEPA equipment
i dont know what HEPA stands for
bout it sounds like hepatitis right?
(it has nothing to do with that. ed.)
anyway im getting the filtration n removal machines
because that pastel dust is nasty stuff
and the olde beeing dont wanna dye for his art
so now the dust must be gone
i also trying havin' a crack at sorting out my "accounting"
well
im shuffling my mountains of bits of paper about
so the govt can figger out how much to wallop me
thats the price of socialism and i gladly will pay it
no point being well off in the midst of poverty
not that im rolling in dough like a pastry kook
so i pay up if i have to
n take the benefits when i can
but ooh it hurts when you fork it out to 'em
and ya think ahhh less iraq and more arts grants boys
more attention to the wevver
and less of the olde ruinous war war wars
talking of wars
my mothers book is available from karmic hit
its around 25 bucks n in only EXTREMELY limited supplies
read how my mummy got thru the war
and then grew up n produced.....
(drum roll)
ME!
have written some songs
was gonna post on a blister on my toe
till i saws ryans toes n read his report
which went something like
each footstep shredded the flesh off the bone
while frostbite ripped back the watery sores etc etc
and accompanied by a picture
of 2 extremely ruined n fucked up toes
i mean
hes not gonna get a job as a foot model with toes like that
so my feeble little blister wont get a mention
(though paradoxically it just did)
boom boom
someone interested in the olde being playing where....?
you mean just me?
so lo
where?
that poor mans middle earthy place
where they still drive austin 1800s?
cmon ....
shhhh....
its only a merest hint of a rumour
so say nothing or youll spoil it
and a certain poetry festival
do they want the being to read froot machine all the way
and an invitation to special gig somewhere special
hmmm?
cant say anymore
and a chance to be on an extremely huge tv show
and play a buddhist ski instructor in "snow"
or a sponsorship by a well known energy drink company
involving millions of pounds
n the slogan
still rocking at 52
or the chance for me to play song in space
on the moon in 2032
when they open up the files on jfk
so itll only be olde dodderers getting enraged
at what they did
life goes on out here in reality
us surfing the edges of time
falling off one by one
as new riders climb on the wave
tonite dinner with d and j
boheemian newtownions in warehouse caper
maybe some pix

know what you mean about how shuffle sometimes throws up weird coincidences

yesterday my player came up with the acoustic and original versions of two places at once in close succession (two versions almost at once)

it brought home to me just how much more I prefer the acoustic version

it may just be me, but on the original it sounds as if you'd rather be somewhere else

uh, lookin' a little blue there, steve. is that smurf juice you're drinkin'?

your mom is pretty. i see elli and minna's faces in hers.

hahahaha~~so that's your accounting? all of it? well, at least yours is confined to about a four-square-foot area. mine's all over my apartment. paper paper everywhere. and i light candles and burn incense anyway. hmmmm~~paper + fire = i MUST be nuts. ;)

too much snow bizness~~i have a really bad cold right now, and i know exactly how that guy feels, because my nose fell off, too. :)

sorry to hear the evil tax man is after you. yeah, that's a crappy bummer, having to shell out, especially when you're left with hardly anything.

indeed, pastel dust is bad for you. i used pastel in my college art classes, but not for long. it irritated my allergies and made my asthma worse. but then silly ole me went on to spending 90% of my time in an enclosed photographic darkroom, complete with airborne fumes of sulfur, acetic acid, and hydroquinone. go figure. you suffer for your art, you know.

so, a possible solo? a poetry reading maybe?? a stint on a tv show??? wow, the time being is going to be a bizzy cookie.

lotza love.....

Ahoj Master Pernath,

today i listened to an old Jack Frost show with Mr. Frost singing The Wrong Road. This was one of the most desperately beautiful musical experiences of the last years. What's that blue stuff you're drinking, now the green stuff has gone.

>specially in popul vuh
>the treated pianos
>these german guys were pioneeers

and i had to get it as a reimport from australia see...thanks for mentioning Vuh.... Kyrie made my week

Just purchased "Back With Two Beasts" from the very impressive Church Discography and Merchandise website. On the third play it became apparent that The Church has created another incredible and relatively obscure CD. Their even better in 2005 and 2007 than they were in 1985 and 1987. Again the music and vocals are probably too creative, elaborate, meritorious and surreal to resonate with the unenlighted masses. They want rap and death metal crap.

HEPA filter = high efficiency particulate air filter (as defined by the US Department of Energy no less -- aren't you thrilled? :-) )

So those HEPA filtration and removal systems should have you breathing easy -- both literally and metaphorically -- in short order.

Love the new painting btw.

And just ordered your mum's book. Second greatest story ever told, eh? How could I possibly resist?

yes, me again.....you know, passages like the one above more than confirms your genius and why i love your writings and lyrics so much and have done so for 22 years. i read this twice, and it makes perfect sense~~i've never thought of it as so~~life is like a ride that never stops, with people getting on and getting off all the time, people being born, people dying, people being born, and so on and so on.

Nevets. That bloody Matty D beat me to the mark again (so predictable) but you're drinkin Kiwi made V, and it aint V for Vegan either. Full o' sugar. Better on the sticky taste buds than Austraian RedBull though don't ya think?? What ya lookin for in the drawers?? Jazz??

Can I ask ya please? what do ya think of Nil Funn? (aka Neil Finn) supposedly Australia's most prolific and best ever song writer. Two corrections.. 1. He isnt, and the accolade is an insult to you (not that ya give a shit about awards) 2. He isnt Australian. But you's can have him. He's gettin dissed here by certain NZ celebs for dissing Prime Minister Helen Clarke in relation to her appearance at the 2005 NZ Music Awards, where she supposedly took the kudos for getting Kiwi music exported out to the world with NZ on Air funding.. I've met him a number of times (taught his son Liam -Betchadupa - to play pool when he was 3) Ooops I'm soundin like Matt now, sorry..

Your pictures justify how much of a cool guy i think you are. Beautiful scenery there in NSW. When you first mentioned your falcon, i thought of a early model mustang sports car look alike, just a bit heavier and clunkier. What does the sticker on the left side say? I cant make it out very well. Maybe post it on next blogge? Just following the curiosity we all have with bumper stickers.

To all curious Fiendsss. V (what Steve is drinking is a NZ made and exported energy drink like RedBull but tastes less like cough medicine like RedBull does.

It's available all over Australia, NZ and in and around London, but nowhere else in the U.K. It comes in a caffeine flavour, Berry red, sugar free, (with brain destroying phenelanine) and normal full sugar. I prefer Dandelion & Burdock meself bein an expat Welshman.

I won't get my hopes up too high with those rumours sk, but I hope one includes a visit to Melby town! I'd love to buy one of your original paintings one day, but they all seem to sell out pretty quickly (not to mention I'm not that good at saving much money these days), so I'm really glad you're still painting away, the latest one is beautiful.
Loving the photos too. See you soon one day I hope.
Love always,
Amanda

hey sk,

congrats to Mrs. Kilbey on the book! :-) Just ordered a copy. I'm lookin fwd to the read.

Some great pics today, as usual. I dig your filing system. i think you should just crumple it all up in a large manilla envelope, slap on some stamps, and let them sort it out.

"was gonna post on a blister on my toe
till i saws ryans toes n read his report"

Hey, that's cool, i'm not gonna make fun of ya if you'd like to gloat a bit about a little blister. That's the sensitive virgo side coming out, i guess ;-)

I'd post a pdf of the article for the benefit of my fellow fiendss (hate to talk over the heads of friends) but the magazine forbids. But this is the pic that Killa refers to. hadda bit of a heel problem last fall in the far north... http://www.rmaxstaff.com/murdock/77560027.JPG

Toes are fine, druid. I could still be a toe model. Not pretty perhaps, but rugged, dignified. Though a couple nails did fall off. Can you believe all that stuff happened starting the week after i saw ya in sellersville? son of a bitch still hurts to wear shoes LOL

"so my feeble little blister wont get a mention
(though paradoxically it just did)"

Fair enough LOL. Did ya catch the Church mention I worked into that article? ;-) Deftly placed, i thought. And true.

The next one, on Jordan, will be more your speed. Mystical. That issue will also contain the rock star road trip bit with quotes from this here blog. Hits newsstands in July. I'll send ya a copy, of course.

enjoying these photo/text blogs. a day in the life. And Mimesis is gettin regular play, along with a bootleg of the geelong show that really rocks!

I am still a new member to this forum and now I realize the impact of Grant's passing/transformation. According to American music publications, The Church and The Go-Betweens were and are viably the most creative and paramount bands to ever surface from Australia. Lamentably, American and UK pundits had and have a big-time bias for Crowded House, Silverchair and Midnight Oil. The latter were all very good and merit plaudits but I know that the Church are vastly superior. I only know Grant via Jack Frost and he certainly sounded great with dynamic melodic mastery. As far as the Finn brothers are concerned, I actually prefer Tim Finn even though the populace loves Neil.

Hey SK, I had the same issue with my ipod for a while, it seemed to play blocks of a particular artist when on shuffle. Worked it out accidentally, you may have it set on album shuffle. Go to your menu then settings (not shuffle underneath settings) then shuffle and you will have a choice of off, albums, or songs. Select songs and you should be right. Gotta go.

Big smiles, Kate

muse very pleased by all the photos
oh
and the prose
yum
you drinking some sweet stuff in a very matisse sorta blue
the painting with plush pastels
vivid
pulsing
vibrant
yeah the dust isn't good to breathe, however oils can be worse,
don't care what anyone says
synthetic turpentine does not yeild the same results
12str, everyones gotta have a muse
to dance with
muses need inspiring
by Art
they cannot live without it,
and that is where you will find them
and where they find you

the soul cannot go anywhere it is not
already
and its everywhere
the thin skin that separates
cannot contain the connection
or maintain a separation because
it doesn't exist
I find though that it is better to feel the departed
in spirit
than to see them as aparitions
cause once your eyes learn to recognise one...
you see them other places
and
rubbing your eyes won't make them disappear
they choose how they appear, actually
in whatever life stage they feel most comfortable with you in
often it is the one most familiar and last seen
not always
some of them are comfortable with trauma
or can't change the channel so to speak and move past it
these souls linger
when you see them in dreams you usually choose the shape
as you do with everything in that landscape
are you calling Grant
to ask him
what answer is he giving you...
it is knowing...it is knowing
it is believing
hoping that "julia" or "blackbird"
plays more often
than "you're gonna lose that girl"
the white album is one of the very best
of the very best

peace to you,
all present
those passed
and to the future

So Blair's gone.
I never voted for him cos I knew what 'New' Labour were up to in '96 when they announced that if elected they'd make people work for their dole money.
Fuck that - I've paid my National Insurance contributions so if I want to go on the fuckin dole I will and I'll be getting what I've paid for. If you claim on your house insurance, you don't have to go and clean the insurance company's toilets as a condition of being paid out, do you? No. So fuck them.
But now Blair's gone, well, this poxy country will only get worse. Wait and see.
Unless Scargill gets elected, anyway...

Evening SK.
Thanks for the piccies and words combination. Much appreciated.
Oh to hear Fruit Machine from your venerable gob. That would be a rare treat. I loved every page and read it out loud to the family.....but as you know I'm just a sad old brummie and lack your rich, warm tones.
As for John Winston & "You're Going To Lose That Girl"....don't forget it was a journey for him too. Much as you probably don't recall Bus Driver with much relish he moved from some of the stuuf off HELP to Tomorrow Never Knows almost as quickly as you got to You Took!!
But....Mr Lennon wasn't in your league and I GENUINELY, 100% mean that....and that's from someone who had two Beatle pen-pals at the age of 15.
Keep doing what you do Steve. It's truly magical.

Ah, I've got a soft spot for Donovan. My mum bought all his stuff when I was a kid, so I fondly remember Wear Your Love Like Heaven, Season of the Witch, Kingfishers.....yeah, he could write some monstrous crap, and did, but also gems like Hurdy Gurdy Man (with Jimmy Page session work), Mexico, River Song.....stuff like that. Interesting link to Fab's Anthology too, with Rishikesh footage where Mr. Leitch joined Beatles and taught The Walrus the alternating picking pattern he then used in Dear Prudence and Julia. So there's a connection.

Nice photos; your filing system looks like mine. I hate tax time, not so much for paying as having to collect all manner of receipts and read boring booklet, etc. I've never been accused of being too organized. Will have to check out Mrs. Kilbey's book.
