i dunno what to think
nk not keen on pictures of her or doodles or woofle
so just me
i havent even asked the twillies ..i hope they dont mind
now i have this thing....what to do with it?
you may find it ruins it for you
you may find it enhances it
well im gonna figger out better things than fambley schnappshotts
gotta try n be creative
never done much photography
never done any actually
a new field for me to konka?
tonite
steve kilbey will play dance sing sculpt act recite paint photograph
all in one sickening self centred load of old rubbish "installment"
entitled "my egos crushing gravity"
plus his beautiful dortas (in a bikini)
and bumper the performing woofle
but if you guess her name she gets real mad
the doodles are there like night and day
i want to put my family on broadway
and my mum too
god bless her
my mum will be talking about the phenomenon of
the lawn bowls groupie
and tips on raising cheeky little sods
my mum knows how to make great christmas puddings
is it a dying art?
who will make the puddings of the future?
my brother rusty
well i was listening to crystal set from now on yessaday

some of it was really shoegazery before its time
i love shoegazer
and i love space
but i love bobby dylan
and i love that crazy german stuff
anyway
thats me i guess
exploiting my fambley a la the ozbyrnes
chucking em all out there n putting em to work

that slightly sick feeling
as it hits yer system

visual!

!!!

a propos crazy german stuff - some nights before i was thinking about the Earthed map with all those places...Westkreuz, Tempelberg which would be Tempelhof, Kreuzberg in real life.... someone from Finland had an idea it could be a small homage to Bowie's Low/Berlin phase. Do you still remember why you put it there, a kind of Berlin from another universe?

Photos are good, I read some other music related blooogs, fripps and dabvid byrnes and they use photos, it does add to it. You can keep yr 'mystique' by keeping the shots relevant to the subject..like, dull hotel room, nice meal, great performance space, random art...i don't know..keep it outa yr house,..well yr gone an started it know anyway,,,shots of yr daughters, where will it end?

Didn't you take that frontcover-photo for the 1st Jack Frost album? I never forget stumbling across it in a music-shoppe (sorry, couldn't help myself here) in Amsterdam, all before the fanzine- and internet-days.. in those times where I was trying to snap up news and new music by my preferred musicians in a big void. When I spotted that old lady on that tv-screen, I knew the image had something to do with you.

SK,

You've been building up to this since the beginning - it's insite on the couch, its coutrements on the inn, its gold on the dust, its all of the above. SK I've just left the tables in Lost Vegas and believe me, they're all lost - the dollars, the people, the spirit.

Thanks for the personal touches from my favorite artist-martian. I love the Crystal Set- I've still got the LPS...but no record playa...but on cassettevetes...love " from now on " such beautiful desperation...and " furious mess" to name a few..love MBV, though at times i hate the innovative production...where's the bass? there is an innarestin intoview with kevin shields in Tape-Op ( free-subscription online!!!) anyway, i wanna say, where is all the good electronic music in this World?? Steve, I can only listen to Narcosis so many times...please show us how its done and make more!!! very eager for the Mimesis, though im a curmudgeon (?) when it comes to oversea orders and online transactions...hope its in the stores. I'm try8ing to make good music myself...fuckin drum machines..ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! dont do what i want em too! like make awesome patterns ala Mimesis...oh well, its n there somewhere... Lots of respect, Dee in Texas...You know, i wishe the sneaker pimps had made more music...Corner had a pretty killer aesthetic on some of those pieces..the drums and bass, the gated sounds...nice.

don't worry about your new venture into a "visual blog" ruining anything~~sometimes when you can't find the right words for something, well, that's when a picture fills in the blanks for you. i post pix on my blog all the time.

"never done much photography
never done any actually
a new field for me to konka?"
ABSOLUTELY!!! given how gifted you are, it'll be a piece of cake for you. i'm excited for you and i think you're going to have lots of fun at it. (i'm a photographer, so of course i would be biased.... :) ) so.....if you need to know anything about it, i'll be happy to assist.

i hope you don't mind my shameless self-promotion, but go check out my gallery:

Yeah, dig these and the gorgeous Elektra and Miranda - hi girls! Stick some of your artwork in killer, maybe the portait of El, do you have of of Minna too? And the Churchies. That would make good decor. Please paint Ben Buckler for us here in unsalty Melbourne inner NE.

I note that some of the topper blogger raters are telling of their callgirl and gay experiences so considering you stay well away from sexual description, you are doing marvellously well.

Got back from Mexico finally - missed a few day's blogges - with a bad cold (cough, cough) as a souvenir for my work troubles.

Open my T.B. and behold.....photos!! Lovely daughters, ocean-child in sunglasses, the Time Being himself in secret rocky enclave. Shoegazer....love it, fave is probably (besides some Church) still Ride and Cocteau Twins.

Looking forward to more photographic visual surprises. Will the Biography come out with a trove of "unreleased" vintage TB photos?

Jesus, Song in the Afternoon is beautiful! Christ Kilbey, you have created more than enough love in this world...to be moved by your smooth voice is at times really unfathomable...i give praise where its due...I understand when people wanna gush at how much they love you and your music...and i also understand folks being bitter and burnt out...But there are definite times that i realize the awareness you've brought me is really priceless...cuz this is a lonely and lost world...just thought i'd say thanks again..Dee in ....

Tim from Sellersville said...

Not cool, Mr. Kilbey...

Why do think your wife didn't want her kids on the blog?

Putting up these somewhat revealing shots of your daughters without permission??

Is a blog rating worth that much? I guess so comparing the amount of text given to your personal fawning and to prudent thoughts of other people's safety and concerns.

What if some bully or kid from their/her school checks it out? Much less someone worse...??

Come on, even taking a remote chance with loved ones isn't wise.

Damn, I am one crotchety 32yo...

There's only one way to get to the #1 spot...and that usually involves removing items of your clothing.

Ya sure ya wanna go down that path ?

I guarantee you that if you post a usual blog in the AM and then doa coupla pic posts in the rest of the day the cumulative page views of multiple posts will get you to #1 in no time. Most posts, more people viewing, more ranking. Clear some space in your ego and say here I come at ya #1.

Crystal Set yeah are something to behold, Wild Wild Planet, messy girl, charlatan are my faves.

You rock killa!

Cool photos! I'll bet you trip those kids OUT!!! If I had cute kids like you, I'd want the whole world to know about it too however, I have to agree with Duckling about future pics... Would LOVE to hear a new batch of song-songs from Russell!!! shame that Crystal Set never made it to San Fran...Can you upload music to your blog??? How about Blogs on tape??? Where the blog is read TO you in the author's voice, with a soundtrack and fully animated imagery???? Surely that'll get you to #1...???

Love
Ricky

LMAO!

I bet some backstage Choich pics would bump the traffic up... Hold back on the calves, though. You don't wanna fire the big guns right away.

I just heard the crystal set for the 1st time about a month ago - have had no luck finding the cd's so far, but was able to download and check it out. very cool stuff! wild wild planet, benefit of the doubt among my faves. Love the shoegazer stuff, and thanks to sk's reccommendations getting into the german stuff. Also, funeral by the arcade fire has been getting steady rotation on my ipod. thanks for the tips!
